
“Grain harvesting continues in the region. To date, 1 million 236 thousand hectares have been harvested, or 55% of the plan of 2248 thousand hectares. Agrarians of the region harvested 3 million 965 thousand tons with an average yield of 32.1 centners per hectare. This is 1.4 times higher than the level of last year as of the current date,” said Kovalsky, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government, Minister of Agriculture of the Region, at a permanent meeting under the Acting Governor Roman Busargin.
More than 200,000 tons were harvested by grain growers in Balashovsky, Yekaterinovsky, Kalininsky, Pugachevsky and Engelssky districts of the region. More than 100,000 tons have been harvested in 14 municipal districts.
In terms of crops, the HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture specified, 984,000 hectares of winter wheat have been threshed in the region, which is 84% of the plan. The gross harvest to date has amounted to 3 million 462 thousand tons, the maximum yield - 49.3 centners per hectare - was recorded in the Balashovsky district. Spring grain crops were harvested on 197 thousand hectares (19% of the plan), with an average yield of 17.9 centners per hectare, the gross harvest amounted to 352 thousand tons. 49 thousand hectares of leguminous crops were harvested, with a yield of 13.5 centners per hectare, 66 thousand tons were harvested.
By August 10, 392.7 thousand tons of grain of the new crop were received by the enterprises of bakery products (data are given based on the results of monitoring of 46 enterprises). Taking into account the storage capacities of agricultural producers, the total storage capacity of grain in the region is 7.2 million tons. “Elevators and grain-receiving enterprises of the region are fully prepared to receive the 2022 harvest and ensure its qualitative and quantitative preservation,” said Roman Kovalsky.
