Pionerprodukt.by visited the Plemzavod-Kolkhoz named after Lenin in the Volgograd region.
Many thanks to the State Scientific Institution NIIMMMP (Volgograd), which, with the grant support of the Russian Science Foundation, conducts livestock grading, develops ways to improve the milk productivity of cattle.
The company has a history of about 90 years, and currently its land covers an area of ​​more than 28,000 hectares, of which 19,000 hectares are arable land. The main activity of the enterprise is animal husbandry, namely the breeding of red steppe dairy cows, and there is also a pig breeding complex. The enterprise has the status of a breeding reproducer for the red steppe breed of cattle. At the time of filming, the livestock was 2350 heads.
The choice of the breed was due to its unpretentiousness and adaptability to the steppe regions of the Volgograd region. In the summer, cows graze on pastures, while lactation can take 7-8 years, and sometimes cows have 9 calvings. On average, the milk yield of this breed is about 15 liters per day.
During the summer, cows are milked right in the field, in specially organized summer camps - at the summer milking.
Along with animal husbandry, the enterprise has a field-growing direction. 2200 hectares of land are allocated for the cultivation of fodder crops: perennial grasses, corn and sunflower for silage.
The company has its own processing shop, which produces various sausages and other meat products, as well as selling meat to the local population and employees at a reduced price.
All milk , both received on the farm and taken from the local population, is sold by the enterprise to the butter and cheese plant. Part of the milk is sold to the neighboring Rostov region to the dairy plant.
Insemination of cows is carried out artificially, the seed is purchased in the Altai Territory. All obtained bulls are sold live in the southern regions of the country. The farm also sells breeding heifers and heifers with the necessary package of documents to receive government subsidies.
