Agrarians from 14 districts took to the fields for spring sowing. The first crop was barley. It is already sown in 12 districts. In total, 180,000 hectares are allocated for barley, which corresponds to the level of the previous year. At the moment, 6.9 thousand hectares have been sown with barley.
Sowing of spring wheat has begun in nine districts. Due to undersowing in the winter autumn of last year, the area under spring wheat was increased to 214 thousand hectares in 2023. This is 35% more than a year earlier. As of April 10, 6.1 thousand hectares were sown.
Peas are sown in four districts. 18.5 thousand hectares are planned for it this year. Area under peas increased by 34%. This is due to the fact that peas are becoming a very promising crop. Processing capacities are being opened, so raw materials are required to ensure the smooth operation of factories. At the moment, 1.6 thousand hectares have been sown with peas.
Work on sowing annual grasses is being carried out in 5 districts. They are to be placed on an area of 11.9 thousand hectares.
Feeding of winter crops is coming to an end. It is completed on 94% of the area. For perennial grasses, fertilizers were applied to 69% of the area.
The deputy governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Kremnev, noted last week that the region's economies were 100% provided with seeds of grain crops. Readiness for fertilizers and machinery in the region is also 100 percent.
