President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on new sanctions against RUSSIA. United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, A Just Russia - For Truth, New People, and the Central Election Commission fell under them. The document was published on the website of the Ukrainian leader.
Ukrainian sanctions, the decree says, provide for the blocking of assets, as well as a ban on transactions and operations.
The sanctions lists also included Interros and Rosbank, VTB structures, Far Eastern Bank, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR and other organizations. Among the individuals who fell under restrictive measures: the wife of Vladimir Potanin Ekaterina, as well as his children Anastasia and Ivan, the wife and daughter of Senator Suleiman Kerimov Firuza and Amina, members of the Federation Council Alexander Shenderyuk-Zhidkov and Viktor Sheptiy, as well as adviser to the HEAD of the acting head of the DPR on the rights of the child Eleonora Fedorenko.
The Ukrainian president regularly imposes sanctions against Russian citizens and companies. So, in mid-April, Zelensky's next decree provided for restrictive measures against Yandex, VK, Rambler and Gazprom structures. The daughter of the Minister of Defense of Russia Ksenia Shoigu, as well as Russian athletes Svetlana Khorkina, Igor Akinfeev, Ilya Averbukh, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, fell under the sanctions.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly called the practice of sanctions used by Ukraine and Western countries illegitimate and illegal. According to Moscow, they can be introduced only with the approval of the UN Security Council.
