
The National Security Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has made a decision on sanctions, the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky announced.
"The National Security and Defense Council has also made a decision on sanctions. Lists will be coming soon," he wrote on his TELEGRAM channel.
There will be several "hard packages," he said.
On January 19, Ukraine imposed sanctions against 18 people. They included the leaders of the banned Opposition Platform - For Life parties Yuriy Boyko and the Communist Party Petro Symonenko, as well as MP Nestor Shufrich, former MPs Yevgeny Murayev, Oleg Voloshin and Leonid Baysarov.
In addition, the rector of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, the poet Ilya Reznik and the conductor Yuri Bashmet were stripped of their Ukrainian state awards.
Also on January 19, Zelensky's office discussed the possibility of introducing sanctions against the former HEAD of state (2015-2019), leader of the opposition party "European Solidarity" Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian publication "Strana" reported.
