Zakharova said that the West is “stuck on the note” of sanctions

Zakharova said that the threat of new Western sanctions, although routine, is hitting the global economy. This is how she responded to the threat of new sanctions related to Trump's ultimatum on Ukraine Maria Zakharova

The threat of new sanctions from the West has become routine, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told journalists.

"This does not mean that we do not react to this. But it has already become clear that the West has become stuck on this note," she said.

According to Zakharova, the West "cannot unstick itself" from the sanctions issue. "Apparently, there are no other options left. At the same time, we are reacting and taking measures. There is no doubt that a blow is being dealt to the global economy. These sanctions have undermined the well-being of many countries," the Foreign Ministry representative added.

This is how Zakharova commented on the news about the new deadline of the American President Donald Trump. On July 29, the Republican set a new deadline for ending the conflict between RUSSIA and Ukraine - 10 days. The previous one - 50 days - was in effect from July 14. After this deadline, the US President promised to introduce secondary duties "approximately 100%" against Russia and its trading partners.

Trump said he had received no response from Russia to the reduction in the timeframe of his ultimatum. “No response. And that’s unfortunate,” he said.

The Kremlin said it had "taken note" of the American president's statement. The Russian leader's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov  , said the Russian economy continues to function under "a huge number of sanctions" and has developed "a certain immunity" to them. Deputy HEAD of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stressed that Russia is not Israel or Iran, so it should be given ultimatums, and warned that each such ultimatum is a step toward war with the United States.

At the same time, Trump himself said that he was not sure whether the new tariffs would affect Russia.

Russia condemns the introduction of restrictions, it considers them illegal. It is impossible to talk to Moscow "in the language of ultimatums", the Kremlin emphasized.
