US President Joe Biden will announce on Thursday the imposition of sanctions against more than 300 deputies of the State Duma of RUSSIA, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources among US officials and internal documents.
According to the publication, the American president will announce the introduction of restrictive measures on March 24 during his trip to Europe to attend the NATO summit. The sanctions were developed with the participation of the European Union and members of the G7, the WSJ interlocutors said.
The White House previously reported that Biden would attend an extraordinary NATO summit in Brussels, the main topic of discussion would be the situation in Ukraine. In addition, he will take part in a scheduled meeting of the European Council, which will consider "transatlantic efforts to impose economic costs on Russia," the report said.
