The film studio Warner Bros canceled the release of "Batman" (2022) in Russia the day before the premiere due to the situation in Ukraine. This is reported by Deadline, citing a statement from the company.
“In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, WarnerMedia is suspending the release of its feature film Batman in Russia. We will continue to monitor the development of the situation. We hope for a quick and peaceful resolution of this tragedy,” the statement said.
Following Warner Bros, Sony also announced the suspension of its films in Russia. “Given the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine and the resulting uncertainty and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region, we will be suspending our scheduled theatrical screenings in Russia, including the upcoming release of Morbius,” the company said in a statement.
The release of the new "Batman" in Russia with Robert Pattinson in the title role was scheduled for March 2, 2022, the release of "Morbius" with Jerad Leto - for March 24.
