For the first time since 2008, the number of millionaires in the world has decreased

In 2018, there were 18 million people with more than $1 million in wealth in the world. This is 0.3 per cent less than in 2017. This is the data of the consulting firm Capgemini, which presented its report on Tuesday, July 9. The reduction in the number of millionaires has been observed for the first time in 10 years, since the 2008 crisis.

The total condition of millionaires has also decreased compared to the previous year - by almost 3 percentage points, to 68.1 trillion dollars. "The decline in equity markets is usually particularly strong," said Klaus-Georg Meyer, an expert at the company, commenting on the situation.

Germany is still among the world leaders in the number of DOLLAR millionaires. The first place is taken by the usa, followed by Japan, Germany and CHINA. Citizenship of these four countries has more than 60 percent of millionaires in the world.
