The Ministry of Economic Development of the Kaliningrad Region has published a list of goods prohibited for transit through the territory of Lithuania. The list consists of 66 pages.
The list of goods subject to the restrictions of EU Council Regulation No. 833/2014, published on the official website of the department, includes sections indicating the product code on 66 pages.
The Foreign Ministry threatened Lithuania with consequences for the ban on the transit of goods to Kaliningrad Politics
Among other things, the list includes: process plants for the liquefaction of natural gas, iron and steel products, jet fuel and fuel additives, products for use in the aviation or space industry, purebred horses, truffles and their products, cigars, perfumes, tableware from porcelain, stone, faience or ceramics, household appliances worth more than €750, sound recording equipment worth more than €1000, musical instruments worth more than €1500 and other sanctioned goods.
Separately, it is noted that oil and oil products will be subject to restrictions only from December 5, 2022.
What will the ban on the transit of sanctioned goods to Kaliningrad lead to Politics
The Lithuanian authorities have banned the transit of sanctioned goods between the Kaliningrad region and the rest of RUSSIA since June 18. In response, the HEAD of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, called the transit restriction a gross violation of international obligations of both Lithuania and the EU, and the Russian Foreign Ministry protested to Vilnius and demanded that the restrictions be lifted immediately.
