The authorities of the Bahamas have joined the Western sanctions

The authorities of the Bahamas ordered their financial institutions to stop all transactions with Russian and Bahamian individuals and legal entities that fell under Western sanctions , reports REUTERS. At the same time, the banks of the island nation have so far refused to report whether they have Russian accounts and whether they will be frozen.

Reuters points out that the authorities of the Bahamas have so far only verbally condemned the Russian special operation in Ukraine. According to the agency, it was to the shores of this country that oil tankers were sent, which were forced to change the route after the announcement of US sanctions .

On March 8, US President Joseph Biden announced an embargo on oil and gas imports from RUSSIA. At the same time, he pointed out that he does not expect the same decision from the EU, which is more dependent on Russian energy supplies.
