In the United States announced the work on tightening sanctions against Russia

US Senator Ted Cruz said he is working on a bill to tighten sanctions against RUSSIA and Iran. With the help of new measures, he wants to prevent cooperation between the two countries.

"I'm currently working to win support for a bill ... that will force the Biden administration to oppose Russian-Iranian cooperation on a number of fronts," Cruz said at the Hudson Institute.

He proposed imposing sanctions on "banks, oil tankers, planes" used by  Moscow and Tehran. The bill also proposes to freeze billions of dollars of Iranian assets and oblige US President Joe Biden to use them to compensate Ukraine .

Cruz also accused the American president of "supporting both sides of the conflict in Ukraine." He criticized Biden for providing aid to Ukraine while allowing Iran to "sell arms to the Russian Federation." The US administration, according to the senator, "injected billions of dollars into Iran, which go into drones used by Russia."

“If you want Russia to lose in Ukraine <...>, one of the most important steps we can take is to stop, eliminate, Russian-Iranian cooperation. We must prevent Joe Biden ... from supporting both sides of the war in Ukraine, ”said the senator.

The Russian side denied that Iran supplied drones to Russia. In November , the Iranian authorities admitted that they had delivered drones to Russia, but they did so before the start of the military operation and in small numbers. After that, the Russian mission to the UN stressed that Iranian drones were not used in Ukraine.
