The Federation Council responded to calls to tighten sanctions against Russia

Against the backdrop of anti-Russian sanctions , RUSSIA intends to create conditions within the country to produce domestic goods and services for its own use, Andrey Kutepov, HEAD of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, told RBC.

“Let's look optimistically into tomorrow: we will create such internal conditions under which, no matter what they come up with, it does not concern us, so that we have everything of our own. This is my unequivocal position,” Kutepov said.

According to him, recently the country has managed to create everything "for a comfortable stay - from tourism to food."

So the senator responded to the statement of the chairman of the leading faction of the European Parliament - the European People's Party - Manfred Weber, who called for tougher sanctions against Russia in the event of an escalation of the conflict in Donbass or a deterioration in the HEALTH of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Among other things, he called for disconnecting the country from SWIFT and freezing the accounts of Russian oligarchs.
