Negotiations between RUSSIA and partners within the framework of military-technical cooperation (MTC) are now becoming closed due to the sanctions situation. This was stated by the HEAD of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev, TASS reports.

“The sanctions situation creates a certain closed nature of relations, negotiations, and we try not to talk about it. But we can say with confidence: Russian weapons are in great demand and authority,” Mikheev said.

Rosoboronexport has been under US sanctions since 2015. Also against the company imposed sanctions of the European Union.

In early February 2023, the US Treasury imposed sanctions against 12 companies and ten individuals. All the companies mentioned in it are registered abroad - in Singapore, Cyprus, Israel, Latvia and Bulgaria. Igor and Jonathan Zimenkov are mentioned in the list of individuals. The US Treasury considered them related to Russian defense projects, including the supply of "a Russian company of high-tech equipment."

In response, Rosoboronexport stated that they did not know the person and company against which the sanctions were imposed. At the same time, the company called the sanctions themselves a manifestation of unfair competition.
