The UN predicted a reduction in meat production for the first time in 20 years

World MEAT production in 2019 will fall for the first time in two decades. This forecast was released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The organization predicts that the volume of cattle meat production will be 335 million tons, which is 1% lower than last year.

The main reason for the reduction in production, according to the FAO, is the outbreak of the African plague epidemic in CHINA, which has significantly affected the pig population.

At the same time, poultry production is expected to increase in Argentina, Brazil, the European Union and the United States .

Experts also suggest that in 2019 the world production of wheat and corn, as well as MILK, will increase, while the volumes of SUGAR, oilseeds and rice will decrease. The indicators of the fishing industry will remain unchanged.
