Minsk proposes to deprive of property and citizenship for calls for sanctions

For calls for sanctions against Belarus, property should be confiscated and citizenship should be revoked. This was stated by Oleg Belokonev, Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus (the lower house of the country's parliament), ONT TV channel reports.

The lower house passed the bill, which toughens the responsibility for calls for sanctions against the country, in the second reading. In accordance with the document, it is proposed to introduce a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years for this, the TV channel reports. Then it must be approved by the Council of the Republic and signed by the president.

“I don’t think that this is a lot, since the damage to date from the sanctions that are being introduced is quite large,” Belokonev said, commenting on the bill.

According to him, those who do not understand this should be held accountable.
