The high supply of the domestic market with the main types of meat contributes to maintaining a stable price level. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

“The saturation of the domestic market, combined with growing competition, will help maintain a stable level of wholesale meat prices,” the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of February 10, the prices of agricultural producers for pork amounted to 151.8 rubles. per kg, which is comparable to the levels of the same period in 2019 and 2018 (147.8 rubles per kg and 149.6 rubles per kg, respectively). The cost of chicken meat is 113.8 rubles. per kg, which is lower than in February 2019 (114.9 rubles per kg).

The department also indicated that customs and tariff regulation measures for grain and oilseeds will reduce the cost of livestock enterprises for feed base. In turn, this will ensure a reduction in production costs and maintain the level of prices for final meat products.
