The Foreign Ministry announced cooperation with Belarus in the fight against sanctions

Russia is in solidarity with Belarus in rejecting restrictions from the EU and supports the country in countering pressure from the West. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin.

“Russia supports Belarus in countering Western pressure. We are pursuing a coordinated policy of taking response measures, joint stop lists, and helping to mitigate the negative socio-economic consequences of restrictions for Belarusian citizens. We will continue this close cooperation with Minsk,” the diplomat said.

According to Pankin, sanctions against Belarus are introduced with the aim of "bringing down the standard of living of ordinary citizens" and provoking "a new wave of anti-government protests."

The Deputy Minister also noted that Russia is carrying out joint work to counter Western restrictions within the framework of the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union. Within the framework of both associations, there are agreements under which, in the event that a third party imposes restrictions against one of the participating countries, it will be provided with support and assistance.

Pankin stressed that the practice of sanctions by Western countries "is becoming more common." He believes that "the culture of political dialogue has been lost in the West." “Partners have forgotten how to solve problems in a civilized manner, at the negotiating table,” the Deputy Minister noted.
