The Foreign Ministry promised to respond to EU sanctions in the case of Navalny

RUSSIA will respond to new EU sanctions in connection with the case of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was stated by Deputy HEAD of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Grushko, TASS reports.

“The reaction will be from our side,” Grushko said.

The Deputy Minister noted that the approval of the EU sanctions did not come as a surprise to Moscow. He believes that such actions destroy bilateral relations.

Earlier, RIA Novosti and TASS, citing sources, reported that the permanent representatives of the EU countries agreed on the imposition of personal sanctions against the Russians involved in the arrest of Navalny.
