The bill provides for amendments to Part 2 of Art. 201 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority), which establishes liability for the use of authority by a person who performs managerial functions in a company or other organization to benefit or harm others.

If the actions of such people were committed in order to comply with foreign sanctions, the authors of the bill propose to impose a penalty in the form of a fine of up to 1 million rubles. or in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.

The Supreme Court upheld the amendments on responsibility for the implementation of sanctions Politics

“A number of Russian companies, including those with state participation, for one reason or another, refuse to work with banks and enterprises that have already fallen under sanctions , because they are also afraid to fall under them. It is obvious that one of the goals of foreign sanctions is to destabilize the domestic economy of Russia, push domestic campaigns against each other, Krasheninnikov said, commenting on the introduction of the bill (quoted by TASS). “In order to prevent the worsening of the economic situation inside the country, we propose to amend the Criminal Code.”
