The White House allowed the expansion of sanctions against Russia

The United States allows the expansion of sanctions against RUSSIA to more sectors of the economy, said Duleep Singh, deputy DIRECTOR of the White House National Economic Council, in an interview with CBS.

“We can expand our sanctions . Measures, sanctions that we have already introduced, expand their effect [to cover] a larger number of purposes. Apply them to more sectors,” Singh said.

He clarified that this meant, for example, the inclusion of more banks in the sanctions lists.

If new restrictions are introduced, they will affect the main sectors of the Russian economy, mainly oil and gas, Singh added.
