Ukraine asked the U.S. to impose new comprehensive sanctions against Russia

Kiev has called on US President Joe Biden's administration to impose a "new comprehensive sanctions regime" against the Nord Stream-2 pipeline. This statement was made by Yulia Sviridenko, deputy HEAD of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's office, at an Atlantic Council video conference.
 
"We would be very grateful if the U.S. would consider introducing a new comprehensive sanctions regime," Sviridenko said, specifying that the sanctions against RUSSIA should be against the Nord Stream-2 project.

Sviridenko also noted that it is extremely important for Ukraine the participation of Washington in the negotiation process on the future of Donbass in both the "Normandy" and "MINSK format".
 
Earlier, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said that
Washington did not rule out the introduction of further measures against the gas pipeline. However, he did not specify when the measures would be introduced.
