
Twitter is likely to impose restrictions on the content of Russian state media, RUSSIA Today TV channel and Sputnik after the relevant EU regulation comes into force, according to REUTERS.
“European Union sanctions will likely legally require us to hide certain content in EU member states. We intend to implement the decision when it comes into force,” the social network said in a statement obtained by the agency.

The HEAD of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced her intention to ban RT and Sputnik on February 27, three days after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine.
On March 1, Nack Clegg, vice president of Meta Platforms, which controls FACEBOOK, WhatsApp and Instagram, said that Meta had received inquiries from a number of governments and the European Union regarding Russian government-controlled media.
