US tariffs may or may not impact RUSSIA, US President Donald Trump stated yesterday, July 29.
"But we're going to impose tariffs and other measures that you're imposing. it may or may not affect them. But it's possible," he said ( as quoted by The New York Times).
The day before, on July 29, Donald Trump announced that the deadline for a settlement in Ukraine expired in ten days.
In mid-July, Trump declared his dissatisfaction with Russia and promised to impose secondary sanctions "at about 100%" if there was no progress in resolving the situation in Ukraine. He initially spoke of a 50-day period, which expired in early September.
However, on July 28, Trump announced that he was reducing the established deadline to 10-12 days.
The Kremlin said it had "taken note" of the American president's statement. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that Russia is not Israel or Iran, and warned that any such ultimatum is a step toward war with the United States.
