The United States, as part of the next round of expansion of anti-Russian sanctions, has banned the provision of a number of services to RUSSIA in the field of information technology, the Ministry of Finance reports .

According to the decree that the department prepared together with the State Department, from September 12 it is prohibited:

  • provide IT consulting and design services;
  • provide IT support services for software used for enterprise management, design and production.

Thus, the Treasury notes, the EXPORT , re-export, sale or supply, “directly or indirectly, from the United States or by a person from the United States, wherever located,” of IT consulting and design services, and IT support services is prohibited. or cloud services for the corresponding software “to any person located on the territory of the Russian Federation.”

The department said there are exceptions. For example, they will affect companies that are owned or controlled by a US citizen.

The Treasury Department added that the United States supports the free flow of information around the world and sanctions “are not aimed at undermining civil society”; The US continues to allow "certain telecommunications and internet operations, as well as humanitarian operations."

The new US sanctions list includes about 300 individuals and legal entities from Russia (among them the Moscow Exchange, the National Clearing Center and the National Settlement Depository), CHINA , Belarus, South Africa and other countries, which, according to the Ministry of Finance and the State Department, help Moscow bypass previously introduced restrictions.

Russia considers the sanctions illegal, the Foreign Ministry promised that Moscow will take retaliatory action.
