The United States imposed sanctions against the Russian companies Nobility and Constanta, as well as against the ships Ivan Sidorenko and Ostap Sheremeta, due to the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The updated sanctions list is posted on the US Treasury website.

Both vessels are connected with the Nobility, the ministry said. This was previously confirmed by the extract from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. Nobility is owned by CSE Limited (25%) and Oil House (75%).

The Constanta insurance company was called one of the possible risk insurers during the construction of the gas pipeline. It was created in the winter and received a license from the Central Bank on January 13. A few days later, it became known that the Swiss company Zurich Insurance Group would withdraw from the project and no longer insure the construction due to the risk of US sanctions.

RBC sent inquiries to Constanta and Nobility.
