
The United States imposed sanctions on 11 Russians, including the mother of the HEAD of Chechnya, Aimani Kadyrova, the list is published on the website of the Office for Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury.

commander of the special police regiment named after Hero of RUSSIA Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya, Zamid Chalaev; Chairman of the Government of Chechnya Muslim Khuchiev; Commissioner for Human Rights in Chechnya Mansur Soltaev; Vladimir Kovalenko, chief of staff of the regional branch of the Yunarmiya in Sevastopol; Rector of Sevastopol State University Vladimir Nechaev; DIRECTOR of the children's center "Artek" Konstantin Fedorenko; Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Belgorod Region Galina Pyatykh; Minister of Education and Science of the Zaporizhia Region Elena Shapurova; Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Rostov Region, Irina Cherkasova; Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Kaluga Region Irina Ageeva.In addition, the international children's center "Artek" fell under the restrictions.
US President Joe Biden on August 24 announced new sanctions against Russia. According to him, restrictions are being imposed against those who "forcibly took thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia."
Russian leader Vladimir Putin said in late July that Russia was saving Ukrainian children by taking them out of the war zone. Then he assured that there were no problems with their return to their homeland.
