The United States imposed sanctions against Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, follows from the data on the website of the US Treasury. The report says that added to the sanctions list SDN Tikhonova was born in 1986 in Dresden, Vorontsova - in 1985 in Leningrad.

Endocrinologist Maria Vorontsova is a member of the council for the implementation of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies, a leading researcher at the National Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of HEALTH and the deputy chairman of the Russian Society of Young Endocrinologists. The BBC Russian service previously called Vorontsova the eldest daughter of President Vladimir Putin, New Times magazine and REUTERS reported the same.
