Washington deprived Aeroflot, Utair and Azur Air of not only access to products from the United States, but also the re-export of American goods from other countries. The period of EXPORT sanctions is 180 days and can be extended,

The US Department of Commerce has suspended export privileges for 180 days from three Russian airlines: Aeroflot, Utair and Azur Air. This was reported on the website of the ministry.

This decision was explained by "ongoing export violations related to complex export controls against Russia" introduced by the US Department of Commerce.

“These three temporary denial [of export privileges] orders remove the right of these airlines to engage in transactions subject to [U.S.] export regulations, including exports and re-exports from the United States,” the statement said.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo stressed that Washington is depriving Aeroflot, Utair and Azur Air not only of access to products from the United States, but also of the re-export of American goods from abroad.

The press service of Azur Air declined to comment. A source in this airline told RBC that the new sanctions need to be assessed, but they will not affect flights within RUSSIA.
