US State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a briefing that Washington remains committed to efforts to prevent the implementation of the Russian Nord Stream 2 project.
Price did not comment on the appeal of a number of congressmen to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken demanding new restrictions against the gas pipeline under construction.
“The US administration is focused – and our efforts remain the same – on preventing the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline,” Price said.
The State Department spokesman also recalled that President Joe Biden considers the construction of Nord Stream 2 "a bad deal that divides Europe."
