They discussed security guarantees for Ukraine and increasing sanctions pressure on RUSSIA. The dialogue was also joined by the British Prime Minister's National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell, the French President's Diplomatic Advisor Emmanuel Bonn, the German Chancellor's Foreign Policy Advisor Günter Sautte, and the Italian Prime Minister's Advisor Fabrizio Sagio.
According to Yermak, the exchange of prisoners and the return of children were also discussed at the meeting. "The main task is the practical implementation of the agreements of the leaders of states on security guarantees for Ukraine. They must be strong and effective in the sky, sea and on land, as well as in cyberspace. We continue to coordinate positions to bring peace closer to Ukraine," Yermak wrote.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that security guarantees for Ukraine should include three main blocks. The first block is maintaining the current number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and ensuring funding for the army, including through Ukrainian, European and American defense production. The second block is an agreement with Kiev's partners at the leader level on readiness to support Ukraine, Zelensky called it "NATO-light". The third block concerns sanctions against Russia and the use of its frozen foreign assets.
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that attempts to put pressure on it are futile. President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia continues to seek a political, negotiated solution to the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, Russia's only goal in the military operation is to protect its interests.
