Switzerland has imposed sanctions against 197 individuals and nine legal entities from Russia due to "serious violations of Russia's international law in Ukraine", the list of restrictive measures now completely repeats the list of the European Union, the website of the Swiss government says.
The report says that Switzerland approved the latest EU changes of March 15 in relation to individuals and legal entities that are under sanctions. “Among these people there are also oligarchs and prominent businessmen. Assets in Switzerland belonging to these individuals are to be frozen,” the Swiss government said.
The country's authorities also approved the expansion of EU sanctions against Belarus due to involvement in "serious human rights violations."
