Russia has added to the sanctions list another 121 Australian citizens from among the "heads of law enforcement agencies, businessmen, experts and journalists who form the Russophobic agenda," according to the Foreign Ministry website.

“For these persons, entry into the Russian Federation is closed on an indefinite basis,” the ministry said.

It explained that the decision was made in response to expanding sanctions from Australia, which "apply to an increasing number" of Russians - both officials and their families, as well as representatives of the business community and the media.

By April 22, there were almost 750 Russian citizens and organizations on the Australian sanctions list.
