Evgeny Muraev

The Russian government excluded former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yevgeny Muraev from the list of persons against whom sanctions had previously been imposed . This follows from a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The Russian government included Muraev in the sanctions list of Ukrainian citizens in 2018. The Cabinet of Ministers called this a response to restrictions on Russian individuals and legal entities that were established by the Ukrainian authorities . In addition to Muraev, 921 individuals were included in the list, and 84 legal entities were also included in the list. Their accounts in Russia were blocked.

Evgeniy Muraev is the former Head of the administration of the Zmievsky district of the Kharkov region, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of two convocations, leader of the Nashi party. On the first day of the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine , February 24, 2022, Muraev published a post on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) in which he blamed the Ukrainian authorities for the outbreak of hostilities.

In May 2022, Muraev left Ukraine. A month later, a Ukrainian Court banned the activities of the Nashi party. In November, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at Muraev's home. The ex-deputy is suspected of treason (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
