The Russian advertising market has exceeded the pre-crisis level

The total volume of the advertising market in RUSSIA in the first quarter of 2021 exceeded the pre-crisis figure of 2019 by 13% and, excluding VAT, amounted to more than 255 billion rubles. This is evidenced by the results of the report of the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia (ACAR), attention to them was drawn by Kommersant.

Market growth, according to experts, is also observed in comparison with the last, 2020 crisis year: relative to it, the volume of advertising in its distribution media in Russia increased by 25% in the first quarter of 2021, ACAR specialists calculated. In this regard, they concluded, in general, the Russian advertising industry has overcome the pre-crisis level.

Thus, the report provides data on the volume of advertising on television, radio, in the press, on the Internet and on outdoor advertising. The largest growth among these segments, according to experts, in the first quarter of 2021 was recorded in outdoor advertising (compared to 2020, its volume increased by 39%), radio advertising increased by 31%, and online advertising - by 27% . Also, advertising on the Internet exceeded the pre-crisis 2019 figure by 25%.

Speaking about the regional advertising market, ACAR experts noticed that this market grew by 10% in 2021 compared to the crisis year of 2020, and its volume amounted to 18.2–18.7 billion rubles. At the same time, according to experts, this market failed to catch up with the pre-crisis 2019 indicators (in 2019, according to experts, it was 14% more than the current indicators).
