Rospotrebnadzor revealed more than 43 tons of low-quality meat since the beginning of the year

During the nine months of 2017, Rospotrebnadzor specialists rejected 7.5 thousand batches of MEAT products weighing 43.5 tons due to non-compliance with quality and safety requirements. This is stated in the message on the website of the department.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, in the first nine months of 2017, 2.3% of samples of meat products did not meet the standards in terms of physical and chemical parameters. The department noted a decrease in the amount of meat that does not meet the standards for the content of chemical pollutants. “In recent years, [the indicator] is less than 1%, for the nine months of 2017 - 0.06%,” the report says.

The share of meat products that do not meet the standards for the content of E. coli and pathogenic microorganisms was 4%. In addition, 0.2% of samples of meat products did not meet the requirements for the content of antibiotics. In total, more than 127 thousand samples of meat products were examined this year.
