Rosatom responded to sanctions with words about nuclear energy outside of politics

Nuclear energy should not be held hostage to the political situation, according to Rosatom. This is stated in the comments of the state corporation, which was received by RBC, in response to the sanctions imposed by Kiev against it .

“We are convinced that nuclear energy should be out of the political conjuncture. Rosatom works transparently around the world, in the interests of customers and partners, and with strict observance of international obligations and national legislation.

On February 5, Ukraine imposed sanctions against the Russian state corporation Rosatom, its subsidiaries, some of which are related to the nuclear industry or high technologies, in total - 200 companies. Such a decree was signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, approving the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of the country, it is published on the presidential website.

Restrictive measures have also been introduced against the companies Atomic Energy Industrial Complex, Atommash-Service, Science and Innovations, Nuclear and Power Engineering, etc. The state-owned enterprise Zaporozhye NPP, created on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, fell under the sanctions, and also Baltic NPP - a nuclear power plant under construction in the Kaliningrad region.

The sanctions list also includes the Mayak Production Association, which fulfills a state order for the production of parts of nuclear weapons; the company's website states that it "plays a major role in Russia's nuclear energy complex."
