As a result, Europe will suffer more from the sanctions against Roskosmos than the corporation itself, its head Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview with the Belarusian ONT TV channel.

Rogozin is sure that relations will be restored after a period of restrictions, however, “with different accents” - the countries that imposed sanctions will be forced to negotiate with the Russian side on its terms.

“Now we will work primarily with those states that have taken either a sound position, or at least a neutral one. And when the dust settles, those who imposed sanctions will be forced to negotiate with us on our terms,” said the head of Roskosmos.

He noted that the national space programs will be implemented on time, Russia will lose time "in terms of realizing some dreams of our space enthusiasts to implement missions in deep space."

According to Rogozin, space professionals in the West understand that madness is happening, and the severing of ties with Roskosmos is “terrible.” He said that there are such people in NASA and SpaceX, in European countries.

“It destroys their own plans, hopes and dreams. They understand that these are unforgivable actions of bureaucrats,” Rogozin stressed, adding that sanctions are announced by those who have nothing to do with space.

Since the end of February, the United States , the European Union, Great Britain and other countries have introduced several packages of sanctions against Russia, which have also affected the space industry. Roskosmos has asked NASA, the European (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to take action to lift restrictions on a number of Russian space enterprises.

The United States and Canada sent carbon copy responses, Rogozin said. According to him, the head of NASA Bill Nelson wrote that the corporation will continue to interact with federal departments and US agencies to promote further cooperation on the ISS, including work with the support of Russian enterprises Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering and RCC Progress. The head of the ESA, Josef Aschbacher, in turn, said that he does not solve such issues and that he redirected Rogozin's appeal to the EU countries.

In response, Roscosmos stopped launching from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana and refused to launch satellites of the British company OneWeb from the Baikonur cosmodrome. Russia has also stopped deliveries to the United States of RD-180 and RD-181 rocket engines manufactured by NPO Energomash1, which Washington uses for Atlas-5 rockets and for the first stage of the Antares rocket, respectively. In addition, Rogozin announced that Roskosmos is switching to payments in rubles when concluding new external contracts.
