RUSSIA, in response to Western sanctions , should expand economic freedoms, President Vladimir Putin said at the board of the Prosecutor General's Office. The broadcast was hosted by RBC.
“We must respond to all actions by our ill-wishers and opponents with one thing - the expansion of economic freedoms. But, of course, everything must be within the law. This is delicate work, and I ask you [prosecutors] to set it up,” the president said.
According to Putin, the Russian economy and domestic business "decently respond" to the "sanctions aggression" from the West. He urged prosecutors to help in this.
On March 14, Putin said that the most important result for Russia last year was the multiple strengthening of the country's economic sovereignty.
According to him, Western countries counted on the fact that the Russian economy "collapsed in two or three weeks or a month" after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. The HEAD of state stressed that "the fundamental foundations of Russia's stability are much stronger than anyone thought about it before."
The President has already pointed out the need to ensure freedom of entrepreneurship in Russia. So, he raised this topic in February during a message to the Federal Assembly.
