Statements that RUSSIA intends to attack NATO are an incredible lie, President Vladimir Putin told journalists at the SPIEF.
“This legend that Russia is going to attack Europe, NATO countries, is the same incredible lie that they are trying to make the population of Western European countries believe,” the president said, emphasizing that “this is nonsense.”
According to Putin, Germany is now teetering on the brink of recession due to sanctions. Due to the refusal of Russian gas, the largest German automakers Volkswagen and Porsche are "dying."
“They would be better off saving their auto industry and raising wages,” Putin advised the German authorities.
In May, the president said that those who impose sanctions against Russia are doing so to their own detriment. "It seems that they will definitely not do this or that because it harms them. But they do it," he noted.
According to Putin, sanctions from the West have had no effect because Russia is “needed by the world” and decisions by Western leaders cannot change this.
