
The National Union of Meat Processors (NSM) asked Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeev to influence retail chains so that they quickly agree to set new, higher prices for meat products, the Vedomosti newspaper, which read the text of the letter, writes. Its authenticity was also confirmed by the executive DIRECTOR of the NSM Ekaterina Luchkina
In the near future, the Deputy Prime Minister will instruct to sort out the situation, his representative said.
In addition, the meat processors asked to look into the prices of raw materials as well: according to the NSM, since the beginning of the year, pork has risen in price by 30%, chicken - by 35%, domestic beef - by 10%, imported - by 25%. At the same time, the authors of the letter, among whom the newspaper named the brands "Prodo", "Dymov", "Ostankino", the reason for the increase in meat prices was the restriction of imports, in particular, supplies of meat from the usa and Brazil.

Earlier, the newspaper reported that large producers of meat products, including Ostankino and Dymov, announced a sharp increase in purchase prices for raw materials. Wholesale prices are rising faster than in previous years and more out of control, they said. The traditional summer decline also did not occur, and in recent weeks the situation has only worsened.
