Arnest Group, one of the largest producers of aerosols in Russia (Prelest, Symphony, Lira, Dichlorvos brands), at the beginning of March 2022 sold its Barony Universal Products PLC company, indicated in the financial statements of JSC "Arnest". The Scottish edition of the Daily Record also reported on the deal.
Based in Erwin, Scotland, the factory produces sprays, shampoos, mousses, deodorants and other aerosol products under retailer brand names. Arnest structures, according to Herald Scotland, bought out 85% of the company back in 2007, and in 2013 brought their share to 100%, promising to invest about £5 million in the development of the plant.
The sale of the plant was forced, according to the Daily Record. The newspaper wrote that because of the special operation in Ukraine, the local business community was recommended to stop trading with Russia. “The Scottish government and its economic departments will use all available powers to not support trade and investment activities with Russia,” a Scottish government spokesman told the publication.
