Ak Bars Bank application disappeared from Google Play

The mobile application of Ak Bars Bank disappeared from GOOGLE Play due to sanctions restrictions from the US Treasury , the bank told RBC.

“Other banks that were subject to sanctions also faced this problem . To install and update the application on Android, the bank is registered in alternative stores: AppGallery, Galaxy Store, RuStore, Xiaomi Store, NashStore. <...> The already installed mobile application will continue to work in full, there are no restrictions on its use. We advise you not to delete it from your smartphone,” Ak Bars reported.

To carry out the necessary operations, you can also use the web version of the Ak Bars Bank Online application, adapted for mobile devices, the bank clarified.

The bank's application can still be downloaded to an iOS-based smartphone, the bank reported. Ak Bars recommended disabling automatic updating and auto-downloading of applications in order to save the application on the iPhone.

In September, the US Treasury expanded sanctions against Russian companies. The SDN list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) included several dozen organizations, including Ak Bars. The restrictions imply the blocking of all company assets in the United States, as well as a ban on American persons from any interaction with sanctioned organizations.
