Georgia participates in all international sanctions against RUSSIA, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said on CNN.
“We participate in all international financial sanctions and this means something for the Georgian financial sector. And we, at the same time, participate in all the resolutions that were adopted to support Ukraine,” Zurabishvili said, answering the question why, in her opinion, the Georgian government did not support sanctions against Russia and does not send material assistance to Ukraine.

On February 25, the day after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced that Tbilisi would not join the economic and financial sanctions against Russia, which at that time were imposed by the United States , the EU and some other countries. Garibashvili explained that this would harm the country and its inhabitants, and in the current situation, he would be guided only by national interests.
At the same time, he pointed out that the Georgian government "within its capabilities" is doing everything to provide political and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
