
The government crisis that arose after Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced his resignation is over. This was stated by Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, RND reports.
“This government crisis is over. The work for our country can continue,” Van der Bellen said.
He also added that on Monday, October 11, he will announce the new chancellor of Austria and the new foreign minister.

Kurtz announced his resignation on 9 October. He explained his decision by the desire to "avoid chaos and ensure stability." He proposed Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg for the post of acting chancellor, while Kurz himself will continue to be a member of the Austrian parliament.
