The damage from Western sanctions against Belarus will be approximately 2.9% of GDP. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the country Roman Golovchenko in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, Sputnik Belarus reports.

According to Golovchenko, based on US research on sanctions pressure, the cost of financial sanctions that are imposed on the economy of Belarus is 1.7% of GDP, and trade sanctions  - 0.7%.

“Together, if trade and financial sanctions, then the maximum amount of damage that was calculated was 2.9% of GDP,” the prime minister said.

He expressed confidence that with such an effect of sanctions on the country's economy, Belarus would compensate for the damage from them from other sources.
