Russia's permanent representative assesses possible problems due to Nord Stream 2

RUSSIA and the operator of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline are ready for the problems that the West may try to create after the launch of the pipeline. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Russia to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-21), TASS reports.

“I think that both we and the operating company, which is an international company registered, by the way, in Switzerland, are ready for this,” he said.

President Vladimir Putin announced on June 4 that the laying of the first string of Nord Stream 2 had been completed. He added that they had already prepared the operation of the gas pipeline to the Slavyanskaya compressor station. A source in Gazprom specified that the second line could be completed in 40 days, approximately by August.
