US attempts to undermine Russia's technological development are doomed to failure. This was stated by the Russian Minister-Counselor Andrey Ledenev, his words are given on the website of the Russian Embassy in Washington.

“The unconstructive decisions of the American authorities continue to drive bilateral relations into a deep quagmire. Here they stubbornly refuse to realize that attempts to undermine the technological development of RUSSIA are doomed to failure,” Ledenev said, answering a question about US sanctions against Russian organizations.

Ledenev added that the inclusion of major internationally recognized scientific institutions in the "forbidden lists" is not in the interests of US scientists. According to him, they repeatedly “voiced regret and even fears” due to the severing of ties with Russian colleagues.

Ledenev summed up that from such actions of the United States authorities "the entire world community suffers, which faces pressing challenges that require joint solutions."

On December 22, the US imposed sanctions against ten Russian companies. The list includes the Central Research Institute of Marine Engineering, the Avrora Scientific and Production Association, the Prometheus Central Research Institute of Structural Materials, the Institute of Oceanology. P.P. Shirshov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, etc. They specialize in the design of marine information systems and devices, including research and defense ones.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the sanctions policy of Western countries, calling these actions illegitimate. Russian President Vladimir Putin called them insane and thoughtless, and also pointed out that pessimistic forecasts about the future of the Russian economy are part of the information struggle against the country.
