The Embassy pointed to the ineffectiveness of US sanctions for the Russian market

The Russian market remains attractive to foreign investors, despite Washington's sanctions , it is foreign companies that suffer primarily due to restrictions, according to a statement by the Russian Embassy in the United States , published in the telegram channel of the diplomatic mission.

“With each new wave of economic barriers, the inefficiency and absurdity of such an approach becomes more obvious. Russia is successfully resisting attempts to impose a line of behavior pleasing to the United States, ”the embassy said, calling the imposed sanctions illegitimate.

The diplomatic mission indicated that Russia remains open to establishing business contacts, but subject to market, competitive business conditions, noting that the Russian market is adapting to new conditions.

On January 26, the US Treasury announced new sanctions against Russian legal entities and individuals. The restrictions affected ship repair enterprises, politicians and businessmen, as well as structures and individuals associated with Wagner PMC and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Among others, the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, the Far East Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center, the Northeast Repair Center, as well as the owner of the Kalashnikov concern Alan Lushnikov, the general director of the Almaz-Antey concern Yan Novikov, the Interros Capital company and Interros Invest.

At the moment, Russia is the leader among the countries of the world in terms of the number of sanctions imposed against it. According to the Castellum.ai portal, which monitors restrictions, there are more than 13,500 sanctions against Moscow (until February 2022, there were just under 3,000). Iran is next, with just over 4,000 restrictions imposed against it.
