The new US sanctions against RUSSIA, which Washington announced on March 15, are driving relations between the two countries into an even more "dead dead end," the Russian embassy in the United States said, the message was published on the diplomatic mission's TELEGRAM channel.

“Another hostile action continues to drive Russian-American relations into an even deeper impasse. it hinders the preservation of a few channels of interaction between our countries,” the diplomats noted.

The embassy added that Russia would retaliate "as required by the principle of reciprocity."

On the eve of the United States imposed sanctions against some Russian officials. Under the restrictions were the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu Ruslan Tsalikov and his other deputies - Army General Dmitry Bulgakov, Colonel General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Colonel General Yuri Sadovenkov, Colonel General Gennady Zhidko and "civilian" deputies Timur Ivanov, Alexei Krivoruchko and Nikolai Pankov.

Sanctions were also extended to the HEAD of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, DIRECTOR of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugaev, and judge for Ukrainian pilots Nadezhda Savchenko and Sergei Magnitsky, Natalya Mushnikova.
